The Water Tower Painter Print
The Water Tower Painter Print
Limited edition print of The Watertower Painter from the Jobs of Yesteryear Series.
Water towers are a common way that towns and communities the world over create water pressure for their inhabitants. My hometown of Tulare, South Dakota (pop. 208) uses a water tower and has its name proudly painted on one side. A water tower painter must climb its dizzying height every so often to repaint the water tower to protect it from rust and corrosion, a job that came with its measure of risk along with the reward of the view from the top. Water tower painters nowadays utilize hydraulic cranes to repaint their surfaces, although some must still be painted dangling from ropes. The Jobs of Yesteryear are thought-provoking conversation pieces that will bring an air of history and whimsy to any room.
